About these coloring pages
Explore the seven days of creation
These coloring pages are for children and families, with a mix of simple scenes and more detailed pictures.
This coloring collection follows Genesis 1:1-2:3. Read the passage together, choose a scene, and talk about the things your child notices.
- Day 1: light and darkness.
- Day 2: sky and waters.
- Day 3: land, seas and plants.
- Day 4: sun, moon and stars.
- Day 5: birds and sea creatures.
- Day 6: land animals and people.
- Day 7: a day of rest.
The seventh-day landscape is an illustration of a peaceful completed world. The animal choices and scenery are artistic interpretations rather than a list of species named in Genesis.
Color and talk together
Start with a simple scene or try one of the more detailed pictures. After coloring, put the pages in order and ask: what can we notice outside that appears in these scenes? Younger children may enjoy choosing just one part of a picture to color.
