About these coloring pages
Choose a picture to color together
Five simple David and Goliath coloring pages for ages 3-5, with large cartoon shapes and easy-to-print PDFs.
Read 1 Samuel 17 together. David cared for his father's sheep and brought food to his brothers. When Goliath challenged Israel, David told Saul about God's help. He set aside the unfamiliar armor, chose five smooth stones, and went toward Goliath with his staff, bag and sling.
David trusted God rather than Goliath's weapons. David used one stone from his bag, and Goliath fell. The complete passage describes his death and the army's pursuit; choose an age-appropriate portion to read aloud. Our pictures avoid graphic violence.

Ideas for parents and teachers
These designs are intended for ages 3-5. Use chunky crayons, name the people and objects, and count the five stones together. An adult can read a short section and explain it in familiar words. The five peaceful illustrations do not show the fight or its aftermath.

Illustration notes
The Bible describes David as a youth without giving his exact age here. Our friendly cartoon appearance, poses and scenery are artistic interpretations. Simplified baskets and small groups represent the supplies and people in the account. The sling is a traditional pouch with cords, not a modern slingshot.
